Anybody interested in reviving the OpenHC project?

I currently redesigned the OpenHC HSM and AM boards to fit a DIN rail housing available (unfortunately the Bopla cases are not available unless you might buy a lot of them).

Still finalizing the correct components as I misordered some protection diodes ;) and thereby killed some transistors during testing.

But then again, the CPU is flashed with the AMD firmware and boots, so far 6 out of 8 relays are working as expected.

Hello Jo,

That sounds really good.

Do you see a chance to build dimming modules as well? That is one thing which is my biggest worry for the future as I have already a broken module after less than 10 years.

I did not expect that. It would be very nice!!

Classic dimmers are not needed in near future anymore. Everyone goes LED ...

Hello,
I just found this thread, in search for self-build PHC modules, and want to build some OpenHC modules, because everything is open source, even the PCB layout.
Can you tell me a bit more about those Bopla cases? Do you have a model name/number? What do you mean with "unless you might buy a lot of them". How many? :-)
You are redesigning the PCB to fit another case? Which case? Willing to share the schematics/PCB eventually?

Hi GunterO,

The Bopla cases cannot be delivered anymore, I asked them. So therefor I chose another case from TME, www.tme.eu/nl/details/d4mg/behuizingen-op-din-rail/gainta/

Since the internal structure and the holes to the outside are different, I redesigned the 2 PCB's, the bottom on holding the relays, and the top one holding the controller and RS485 interface.

I also moved more to SMD components and selected those that are available.

The PCB's can be ordered from Seeed studio, very cheap but takes some time

If you want to do that I can send you the production zip files

Yes, that would be nice! www.nextpcb.com is cheap too, but probably just as slow.
They even have a $0 first order option (max 10x10mm).

Thank you. Very nice, you added 2 more relays. I guess they are taking the place of the two "virtual" outputs of the regular PHC AMD module?

Here are the production files, for the HSM I combined 2 HSM boards in the layout to make it cheaper

I've put them in order with Seeed. The ordering / quotation process was way easier with them compared to NextPCB.
